The NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a year-long achievement program dedicated to recruiting, stimulating, and encouraging high academic, and cultural excellence among African-American high school students. ACT-SO encompasses 33 categories in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts. Since its inception, nearly 300,000 young individuals have participated in the program.
